I mostly eat a plant based diet so I acknowledge any bias I may have against a BBQ joint.
Let me begin with what I liked about this place. The service was very friendly and there is ample and clean seating.
Now onto what I didn't enjoy as much. The food was OK, but too salty and chewy and the rice was a bit bland and not as sticky as I would enjoy from Hawaiian cuisine. Additionally, the amount of plastic used is crazy. My boyfriend and I ordered our plate of food "for here", to be eaten in the restaurant and recieved a styrofoam plate, a plastic plate, and plastic cutlery. My boyfriend asked for water and was given a styrofoam cup. That alone makes me not want to come back. Please consider changing to a more environmentally friendly alternative. I'm sorry to say, but I would not recommend this place to a friend. -

I cannot believe after all these years I haven't reviewed this place! This is one of my favorite places to take out for lunch. Close to my office with tons of parking. Just make sure you don't go during the dreaded high school lunch hour because it can get crowded in there with all the high school kids. The cost of the bowls have increased, so it is now more cost effective to just get a plate and save the leftovers for the next day. Everything is made to order, hot and fresh. I especially love the spam masubi and mac salad. Can't go wrong here. -

Reason he get 1 star, Not a Kids friendly place or owner he said his name with Pride ''Mario'' he was Rude Not Friendly at all !!
My daughter she is 2yr 4months old, i stopped at this place get 1 order of Spam musabi n water glass with water in it. My daughter said daddy I won't orange soda since she saw the guy drinking next to us. I said okay baby and got up n put some orange soda mix with water to make it diluted, This dude yelled crossed behind the register excuse me this water cup is not for soda I just looked at him and said okay sorry man my daughter she just want some orange soda .
I understand he wants people to pay for a drink which I have no problem but I felt so insulted in front of other customer like I took a big glass of his orange soda , Jesus it was tiny little water glass water/ orange soda for my little girl.
I appreciated if he said politely but he was very unprofessional n rude not tempted to buy food from this place '' first Impression is the last Impression '' thank you Mario for loosing 1 customer. -

Worst Hawaiian restaurant I've ever been too. Place was dirty and falling apart. Food got everyone of us sick. Teriyaki beef was the toughest beef I've ever eaten and started choking on it and almost choked to death. Avoid this restaurant if possible

This place makes some really good spam masubi, nice big pieces and a good sauce to go along with it. The bbq pork bowl was tasty, not overly sweet like some bbq things but much more similar to a teriyaki type sauce. The bowl comes with meat and your choice or vegetables and rice or noodle soup. The rice is just basic rice nothing much to say but the vegetables taste very fresh. If you get the plate it comes with rice and macaroni salad, but I'm not a fan of the macaroni salad and the bowl is cheaper so it's the obvious choice
